white-tea-overviewWhite tea is made from the leaves and buds of the camellia sinensis plant. White tea got its name from the white hairs that are seen on the buds of the camellia sinensis plant, which makes the plant look white. It is primarily grown in China, and dates back many hundreds of years, but has only been processed as it currently is for the last two hundred years or so.

White tea is manufactured by taking a fresh tea leaf, withering it naturally in the sun, then drying the leaf to ready it for tea. Because white tea is the least processed of all teas, it contains the most nutrients and provides great health benefits, which gave it the name of the ‘ultimate health tea’. White tea has a very unique, but delectable flavor. It is very light and silky, yet still sweet enough to arouse the taste buds on the tongue. White tea contains a significantly lower amount of caffeine than coffee and also less caffeine than green tea and black tea.

There are so many health benefits to drinking white tea that is difficult to name them all. White tea is full of antioxidants that fight cancer causing cells, as well as slow the aging process and protect the rest of the body. White tea has been shown to lower blood pressure and cholesterol, offer many benefits to the heart, help strengthen the bones, kill many viruses and bacteria while strengthening the immune system, help keep the teeth and gums healthy, promote healthy, radiant skin, lower blood sugar to help prevent and help reduce the symptoms of diabetes, as well as many other things that will keep the body healthy.

The many physical benefits make white tea a powerful addition to any diet, but there have been studies done to show some emotional and mental benefits as well. White tea has been shown to reduce stress, both emotionally and mentally, as well as increase energy in the mind and body. White tea is superb against fighting disease and will benefit the body in so many ways.
